How "Heavy" is your Risk?
I talk to vendors all the time. The vulnerability management space is rife with "risk weights" that help an enterprise prioritize proactive security activities. This is an extremely valuable and necessary function. The only problem is, every vendor does it differently. Attention, all - we need to come up with a standard way to measure risk so that we can conduct proper comparisons and perform baselining activities. Think Fair Isaacs for credit reporting scores.
