Periodically, I like to review email confidentiality notices (I should probably link to previous reviews, but haven't mastered an easy way to find old posts in blogs - guess I need an "everything" category, which would be great if I knew how to access my categories;-). Anyway, here is another one:
"Note: The information contained in this message may be privileged and confidential and protected from disclosure. If the reader of this message is not the intended recipient, or an employee or agent responsible for delivering this message to the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any dissemination, distribution or copying of this communication is strictly prohibited. If you have received this communication in error, please notify us immediately by replying to the message and deleting it from your computer. Thank you."
This one comes from a systems integrator with a security practice. Same sort of attempt to make a user discern whether or not he/she was the "intended" recipient; still may provide comfort from sniffers or nosy admins; still not sure what grounds the sender has in determining the ultimate fate of his/her email after it has been sent to somebody else. But very polite. I thought that was nice of them.
